🎄 Holiday Glow: December Mama of the Month

Meet our December Mama of the Month, Genna Rose Kendall!

Tell us about your family!

I am married to my soulmate, Levi, and mama to Zephyr, who is 1.5 years old.

Where is your hometown?

Near Detroit, Michigan.

What is your current career?

I am a former Early Childhood Educator turned Spiritual Love, Relationship, and Conscious Motherhood Coach.

How did you find FIT4MOM North Hills?

I saw a flyer in Monroeville for what I thought was FIT4MOM. I then looked it up online and found FIT4MOM North Hills, only to find out it was a different program.

How long have you been a member of FIT4MOM North Hills, and what has it done for you?

Zephyr was 3 months old, so I have been attending classes for over a year. It’s helped me to create a better relationship with my body.

What is your favorite class exercise?

I love them all, I can’t choose.

What classes do you currently attend, and why do you love them?

I don’t have a set class; lately, it's been on Fridays simply because it fits my schedule. Previously, it was on Tuesdays. I love them all and prefer more cardio classes where I sweat and feel the burn.

What is your proudest mommy moment so far?

I love who Zephyr is, inside and out. I love his character, his personality, his being!

What is something that has surprised you about motherhood?

Motherhood was and continues to be humbling to me. It has helped me to learn to let go of control. It’s a constant reminder to be present. I used to dream of having five children, and I’m so in love with Zephyr that I would be happy if he stays an only child.

What advice would you give yourself now if you could go back and tell yourself as a new mom?

I would tell my past self to let go of control. I would tell pregnant Genna that Zephyr’s birth won’t go as planned and to be prepared for it. I would say to after-birth Genna to hold her pain, her shame, her sadness, and tell her I see her, I love her, and that while she is devastated over Zephyr's birth, it, in the end, will make her a better person. I would remind her to turn her pain into her passion. I would tell her that the sooner she learns to let go of control, the happier she will be.

Anything else you’d like to add?

A simple thank you to all the mamas. I see you, and I am proud of you.
